2. Create your own Learning and Development plan
The landscape we currently find ourselves in is constantly being disrupted by new technologies and ways of working. As a result, we must always be up-skilling our own capabilities. After you've decided what type of role you want to pursue, start devising a Learning and Development plan.
This could include:
- Online or face-to-face short courses
- Publications you can subscribe to
- Potential mentors

3. Update your resume
Even if you have been with the same company or in the same role for a while, it is still important to update your resume and LinkedIn profile. Take into consideration the new challenges you have faced throughout the year and the new technologies you have learned.

It's a common misconception that recruiters are always the first ones to reach out to candidates when recruiting for a role. While this is certainly common practice, it's not always the case.
