Mathias Agu comes to the Six Degrees Executive team after spending three and a half years working in Talent Acquisition and Executive Search. Mathias has joined the Sydney office as a part-time Recruitment Resourcer. Mathias finished a Bachelors’ Degree in Law from the University of Kent and has moved to Sydney to complete his Master of Management and Macquarie University.

Mathias brings with him a slew of experience that spans the engineering and industrial sector, including but not limited to: manufacturing, construction, power, natural resources, engineering, agriculture, and chemical. Within the previous roles held by Mathias, he established expert business development skills, evident from the growth of a business portfolio of the industrial and engineering sector from scratch.

Alongside his business development skills, Mathias has a proven track record in closing regional and local C-Suite and niche market roles for both MNC and local clientele, with a particular focus on South East Asia. This unique location also saw Mathias develop experience in market mapping and talent mapping projects for MNC companies. As he spent significant time in South East Asia, Mathias joins Six Degrees with exciting experience in international liaising and handling of global portfolios.

Mathias has also lead coaching and training new hires, and holds a personal aspiration to land himself in a leadership position one day, with his natural aptitude for innovation and entrepreneurship. It’s no surprise that Mathias was inspired by Martin Luther King, when he said, “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do keep moving forward.”

The only downside with Mathias’ move to Sydney might be working around getting up at 3am to watch his favourite lads in red with his avid following of Manchester United.
