Automation Project Engineer

Location: Northern Suburbs Melbourne, Victoria
Job Type: Contract or Temp

About the company

This is a fantastic place to work because although it isn't a massive company, they are a forward thinking and progressive leadership who are prepared to put money into what they see as the future - advanced manufacturing, industry 4.0, and of course their people capability. In line with that, they have a really easy going and down to earth approach to culture where people are engaged, have meaningful work, and have a great team of people around them - there is no shortage of work to do, and for sure sometimes things are stressful, but there is an environment of support and shared purpose

About the role

This is an execution role on a key project to install a new manufacturing line - you will be working to a design completed by consultants and ensuring that electrical and automation packages of work are completed according to that design and that control systems are programmed as per their intended function. This means coordinating with suppliers, supervising contractors and installation activity, conducting commissioning, and ensuring effective handover to operations and maintenance

About you

We're looking for someone who has experience executing manufacturing based capital projects

  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • Experience executing manufacturing based capital projects
  • Ability to interpret automation designs and programming, electrical line diagrams and instrumentation specifications etc
  • Must have experience with Siemens systems
  • Confidence and organisation required to engage internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
  • Customer focus - ability to achieve the best business outcome

Why should you apply?

It really comes down to fulfillment. This is a business that is growing, that is investing in new technology, that is focussed on innovation and building a better future for themselves and their people - that's a lot better than a business cutting costs and making people redundant. Sure, you will get paid a good rate for the role which will be on the high end of market rates for this kind of position within this kind of sector, but ultimately it will be that you will enjoy going to work every day. People rarely, if ever, leave this business - there are clear reasons for that fact, so send through an application or give me a call to chat about it if you think this one is for you
