Our client is growing Australian business specialising in fresh food products throughout the grocery and foodservice channels. Family owned, they boast a customer and consumer orientated culture with a passion for delivering premium and quality products on a daily basis. They are currently experiencing considerable year on year growth, and as a result, and they are looking to appoint a Business Development Manager based in Melbourne.
About the role
Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, this hybrid role is responsible for driving new business opportunities within foodservice distributors and independents, accompanied with managing existing accounts within the Independent Grocery and Continental channels (Deli's Fruit & vegetable stores). You will be tasked with driving an end to end sales process, including customer planning, negotiating trading terms, implementing promotional activity and forecasting reporting.
Skills & experience
Success in this role will come from demonstrated experience as either a sales representative / territory manager, or new business development manager from within the FMCG or consumer goods industry. You will posses a highly motivated and 'can do' attitude, accompanied with a passion for gaining new business and strong negotiation skills. Independent grocery or foodservice experience will be highly advantageous.
