This Australian owned technology start-up have a unique innovative customer analytics platform that helps give local mid-size and global retailers insights into consumer behaviour, through this software platform the retailer is able to turn these insights into sales growth and future business opportunities. With head office in Melbourne and growing global client base of blue-chip brands within the retail market, they are about to embark on the next phase of expansion.

About the role

Reporting to and working closely with Managing Director, this key role will see the successful candidate take control and responsibility for driving the National Sales growth and the channel strategy across the key retail client portfolio within ANZ and beyond.

Duties

  • Working closely with the Managing Director, take the lead in setting the growth agenda for the existing client portfolio and new business projects across the retail landscape.
  • Analise the current product solution in the market to make sure it is aligned to the current business climate and target segment.
  • Explore new business opportunities through representation and product demonstration of the technology platform - software & hardware, to key decision makers within the retail landscape
  • Conduct business reviews, project manage new product launches.
  • Attend industry aligned trade events to promote the brand and gain further market knowledge
  • Assist with the growth agenda and market penetration into Asia
  • Be responsible for sales pipeline, forecasting and margin control
  • Build deep strategic relationships at multiple levels within the client portfolio
  • Work internally with the heads of product and technology to enhance the product offer to market

Skills & Experience

  • The successful candidate will be a seasoned Relationship Manager/entrepreneurial Business Development Manager with an exceptional sales track record
  • You will have first-hand knowledge of the retail landscape and the prevailing trends within that market across Asia Pac
  • Ideally have sold a SaaS platform or hardware technology solution to retailers at head office level or have sold another technical solution or product to retailers
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are degree qualified
  • A hands-on professional who can switch between strategic and tactical activities with ease
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of basic sales & marketing principles
  • Have an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Overall be a highly engaging sales professional who drives results, makes quality driven decisions, manages through complexity and cultivates innovation
