About the role

Reporting to the GM of Major Accounts, this newly created key leadership role will see the successful candidate take full control and responsibility for the National Sales strategy and team across the key client portfolio within the plumbing & electrical channel - wholesale, retail & trade.

Duties

  • Take the lead in setting the three-year growth plan for the existing client portfolio and new business opportunities across the plumbing/electrical wholesale and trade channels
  • Lead, manage, coach and develop the existing experienced national account management team
  • Negotiate commercial trading terms with assigned key distribution partners
  • Work closely with the channel marketing team and field sales functions to execute field sales tactics and key marketing initiatives
  • Facilitate process improvement within assigned channel and across the broader business teams
  • Conduct business reviews, project manage new product launches in the channel.
  • Be responsible for sales pipeline, forecasting and margin control
  • Build deep strategic relationships at multiple levels within the key distributers
  • Work internally with the head's other heads of departments

Skills & Experience

  • The successful candidate will be a seasoned sales/commercial leader with a strong strategic mindset and the ability to build sustainable long-term plans
  • Have a background coming from a building business within a large corporate structure rather than a SME organisation
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment that is innovation and products focused
  • Ideally have knowledge and expertise across the plumbing and or electrical wholesale channel
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are degree qualified
  • A hands-on leader who can switch between strategic and tactical activities with ease
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of basic marketing principles
  • Have a growth mindset
  • Be a team player and have a collaborative leadership style
  • Overall be a highly engaging manager who drives results, makes quality driven decisions, manages through complexity and cultivates innovation
