The Role:

The organisation is embarking on a period of change and transformation. The role requires the strategic vision of a motivational leader to build a new framework and then deliver with high impact:

  • Ability to quickly assess from a high level the "current state" of the organisation to identify opportunity moving forward
  • Extensive development of the membership journey. Developing a new strategy to identify and capitalise on customer touchpoints across their 2500+ members.
  • Drive a new brand strategy for the organisation whilst sensitively managing their prestigious reputation
  • Extensive governance management; leading the organisation through innovative and contemporary practice whilst adhering to not for profit governance
  • Continued development and promotion of the services provided by the organisation
  • Promoting the organisation through networking and events
  • Creating a culture and environment of excellence and thought leadership


  • Extensive practical experience with governance, ideally from a not-for-profit environment
  • Visionary leader - you are able to confidently build strategy, and deliver this ensuring buying from a diverse range of stakeholder groups
  • Experience interacting with and managing expectations of a board
  • High level of commercial acumen; your experience is diverse. Whilst leading as a CEO, you would also have a strong hold on HR, marketing and finance
  • You are naturally positive and motivational in your approach
  • Detailed understanding of membership-based organisations and a volunteer culture would be ideals
  • Whilst being strategic in your approach, you are also unafraid to be hands on in ensuring delivery
  • You are experience with managing through ambiguity, change and transformation
