This small but highly profitable, privately owned Australian manufacturing business is an incredible success story. The founder and current MD is looking to take a step back to focus on his passion in R&D and technical innovation, ready to hands the reins over to an experienced CEO to take the business to it's full potential, also working closely with and mentoring the General Manager and other key direct reports in sales & production.
This newly created CEO role will be tasked with providing strategic direction and leadership to the business and ensuring it continues on it's path of profitable growth. With so much opportunity, the CEO will ensure clarity in new market development planning, executing targeted growth initiatives and build capability within the business to achieve it's full potential.
Bringing a growth-mindset, the role will gain the buy-in of a committed and loyal team whilst identifying the best structure and required resources, filling any gaps across both people, systems & processes and capability. Understanding manufacturing & operational capability, the CEO will also explore new segments and categories whilst being highly visible with channel partners and major customers in the residential and commercial sectors. Needless to say, ensuring the highest standards around safety, quality & customer service is critical.
There's also numerous projects that will require leadership, prioritisation and focus, ranging from exploring a new CRM & ERP upgrade, shifting the sales & marketing function to a more proactive setting (and required resource allocation), reinvigorating digital assets including website, embed 2 new production lines without impacting supply, exploring a possible board structure, improving operational efficiency (logistics & despatch) and identifying high value segments for the full range of existing products and new, patended innovations.

Experience & Skills
- Extensive P&L Leadership in a building materials manufacturing business as an MD, CEO or GM
- Functional experience leading sales & marketing teams, digitally aware
- Strategically astute, analytical and data-driven decision maker
- Entrepreneurial and agile but risk aware & considered, profit driven
- Extensive experience in the residential / renovation / trade sectors
- Channel Management & distributor relationships
- Highly developed commercial acumen & numerically strong
- People & culture driven, values based leadership style
- Experience developing skills, capability & building high performance teams, a natural coaching style
