Communications & Media Adviser - Major University

Salary: AU$90000.00 - AU$100000 per annum

This is a media and communication role that has a lot of variety where no two days will be the same, and you will have the ability to really impact how Macquarie University communicates its research and achievements.

You will be responsible for the implementation of a broad media and communication strategy that crosses into internal communication and social media. Crucial to this role is the ability to seek out great stories, interpret often highly technical information into compelling content, and implement effective media engagement. Another key part of this role is stakeholder engagement with faculty executives, academics and researchers. You will work closely with the Issues and Media Manager and the broader communication team to build the team's profile across the University and help maintain Macquarie's reputation in the media. Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience building and managing relationships, including experience in providing communication advice to senior stakeholders
  • Experience in interpreting highly technical information and creating creative, compelling content for different channels
  • Proven demonstrated skill and experience developing, implementing and measuring media and communication strategies and plans across a range of channels
  • Excellent writing and editing skills including the ability to identify and correct errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation

Salary Package: from $91,685 p.a. pro-rata (Level 7), plus 9.5% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
