Our Client

This business is an Australian icon for consumers and amongst its peer group of tier 1 FMCGs. Australians have grown up with its brands for 150 years, it's become a part of Australian consumer and business history. Today its products are found in 95% of Australian households.

The business has been attracting and nurturing some of Australia's brightest and best talent for decades, offering exceptional career paths. Unlike a lot of Tier 1 organisations it is the people, not process and systems that drive the organisation. It is rare for this business to go the market for senior talent, but Six Degrees has been asked to attract two senior leaders to manage their biggest customer portfolios and bring in contrasting experience and game-changer capability

The role

Customer Director is a defining role in the career path of many future CEOs. Only a few sales leaders are capable of operating at this level and fewer still can excel in a tier 1 business that has scale, complexity and market leading impact. The alignment of brand, customer and category is the goal of most FMCG businesses and the Customer Director's role is to orchestrate this.

We are seeking candidates who have built up more than a successful career in FMCG sales. To truly "change the game" you will need to have had breadth of experiences. You may have worked in supply chain, marketing, retail, category as well as sales. You will have taken a chance and backed yourself to work overseas, in different markets, to experience and thrive in new cultures. You will have worked with different leaders, challenging and collaborative customers. You will be a problem solver, an innovator, a leader, a challenger, a developer. You will know yourself, you will understand the importance of culture, how to drive commercial results and take people with you on the journey. You will have the drive, energy and potential to be a potential tier 1 Sales Director.
