About the role:
The Director, Web Services plays a pivotal role in the success of the University's marketing and communications strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director Marketing & Communications, you will provide leadership and management for the Digital Channels at VU, developing strategy and roadmaps, managing the external website to optimise digital marketing, and build brand reputation.
Leading and managing VU's web presence and User Experience, you will provide strategic advice and support to the Executive Director, Marketing and Communications, and work closely with the Head of Marketing to amplify digital campaigns to help achieve goals of building brand reputation, acquisition and pipeline - adding value to the business and internal stakeholders.
With a modern view of digital technology, you will work closely with IT Services to provide UX and technical advice to high profile projects, utilising your previous experience to deliver on programs of work, allowing for project realities and priorities to efficiently manage resources and workflow - whilst ensuring strategic goals and objectives are being met.

First and foremost, this is a leadership role, and requires a strong people leader who can unlock the potential of an existing team, harnessing and directing innovation and creativity to ensure strategic business objectives are being delivered, and leading change in a high-performance team.
Critical to this role is a deep understanding of customer and digital marketing, and the online 'sales funnel', combined with the ability to think big, deliver strategic agendas and best practice web services and solutions. You will bring to the role your experience leading and managing a significant web presence, optimising websites with acquisition, reputation and lead generation in mind.
You will have strong technical knowledge across user experience, content creation and management, information architecture, project management and web development. A Tertiary qualification (or extensive relevant experience) is an essential requirement for this role.
This is a permanent role, based at the CBD office, however at times will be required to work at the Victoria University's Footscray Campus.
