An exciting opportunity to join an automotive Tier 1 supplier business based in the inner city of Melbourne who have a global presence. The organisation is spread across a variety of business units all shared with the same values. Safety is a core focus within the organisation, and they are looking for an experienced professional to lead the operation and build on the already present culture. The role will be based in their head office where they are looking for an EHS Lead.

About the Role

The role will join the health, safety, and environment team with 2 direct reports. The key responsibility is to work with employees throughout the organisation to mitigate EHS risk and create a system and culture that works towards zero injuries through robust processes.

This will involve maintaining and update a comprehensive risk profile, identifying critical risks and mitigation strategies, developing policies and procedures, and partnering with the business to ensure senior management understand EHS obligations.

Critical to the role will be the ability to communicate with leaders of the business while digesting all information provided surrounding risks and then prioritizing what should be actioned. This individual will be the champion of driving a safety culture through mentoring & training of colleagues within their team and the broader business.

Skills & Experience

This is an exciting and integral role within the business for future growth and your experience and skill set will include the following:

  • Knowledge of EHS frameworks, legislation, & regulations and experience implementing through policies & procedures successfully in a business.
  • Demonstrated familiarly in working cross functionally with strong business partnering skills that build credibility and engagement through excellent communication.
  • Relevant qualifications within OH&S
  • Ability to understand and operate within a complex structure.
