With a manufacturing site based in Claremont Tasmania, they are looking for an Electrical Reliability Engineer to join the team.

About the role

The role will report to the PM Maintenance Lead and have the purpose for enhancing service quality and equipment reliability by improving workflows and optimising maintenance processes. In addition, you will work in implementing 6 Sigma standards related to maintenance systems while anchoring breakdown repairs, corrective actions, and reliability projects.

The role will manage electricians and support contractors in a goal to manage and prioritise the activities of the group. This will also involve sharing technical information and providing support to resolve repairs.

Critical to the role will be to the ability to achieve key deliverables such as the uptime of machines, safety compliance, quality of machine calibration and cost targets for maintenance and repairs across the site. The key focus areas for the first few months will be to catch up on the maintenance work and then ongoingly keep this up to date with some potential further projects.

Skills & Experiences

This is an exciting and integral role within the business for future growth and your experience and skill set will include the following:

  • Electrical Engineer Degree or trade qualifications.
  • Solid experience on working with different types of Control systems PLCs, VSDs, motion control systems of different manufacturers. (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
  • Experience with high voltage utilities.
  • Highly regarded experience with Lean Six Sigma.
  • Experience working with government regulatory bodies.
  • Strong leadership capability, especially surrounding managing a team skilled contractor.
