About the Company

Leading Australian engineering company that designs, manufactures and installs bespoke product offerings for stages and entertainment venues. HME Services provides innovative Stage Engineering designs for new stage constructions, fitouts and refurbishments for theatres, stadiums, arenas, studios, music halls, auditoriums, pubs, clubs etc. Products include stage lighting, stage drapes and curtains, audiovisual products (projection screens, speakers etc, projectors etc.) and lifting and hoisting solutions.

About the Role

Leading a small but high performing team, this role is responsible for designing machines to suit the client's brief. As an integral part of the business, you will support our manufacturing and project management teams in the delivery of deadlines. You will be accountable for:

  • Delivering mechanically sound designs to specification
  • Providing stakeholders with quality drafting for manufacture and installation
  • Researching, evaluating, and selecting appropriate materials to use in the development of products and assembly processes
  • Producing comprehensive documents including instruction and operational manuals
  • Undertaking design calculations using tools such as FEA
  • Assisting the team with preparation of tender responses
  • Prioritising team deliverables

This role is based in Yagoona, NSW.

Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • To thrive in this role, you will have proven experience in a similar role with a preference given to those who have worked in the Entertainment or Construction industry. You will also be proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD and Revit. Experience with winch design, industrial control and lifting equipment design will be looked upon favourably. Your proven ability to work across multiple projects, manage your time/your teams time and apply your extensive experience to new projects will be key.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role in a product design or development role.
  • Hands on experience in drawing and CAD software.
