About the company
This established and locally owned FMCG has been very fortunate to be able to execute against their growth agenda despite the significant impacts of COVID-19 during 2020. Because of this and in order to deliver on significant innovations already in the pipeline, they have given the green light on a critical expansion project for the installation of a new production line and associated building and facilities.
About the role
As the Engineering Project Manager you will be responsible for the end to end planning and delivery of a large capacity expansion capital project. You will ultimately ensure that the project meets or exceeds its milestones and deliverables (such as deadlines and budget achievement) by working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, leading the project team, and through effective planning and coordination. Your engineering fundamentals, project management experience and strong commercial acumen will help you to mitigate any possible risks facing the project.
We're looking for someone fitting the following:
- Engineering degree (most likely mechanical)
- Manufacturing industry experience is critical, preferably FMCG products
- Strong fundamental Project Management knowledge and skills
- End to end capital project experience of $10m+
- Strong stakeholder engagement, planning and coordination skills
In these difficult times, stability and certainty are attractive qualities for an employer. This is a business that can offer a resilient product category and the ability to grow when many manufacturers have understandably found themselves experiencing much worse conditions. Once the project is over, the fact that they are expanding also means there is a good chance of further opportunity for you to undertake longer term employment, however given this is a contract role there is flexibility to put that decision off until down the line
