Location: Northern Suburbs Melbourne, Victoria
Job Type: Contract or Temp
Salary:
Contact: Scott Logan

About the company

This is a fantastic place to work because although it isn't a massive company, they are a forward thinking and progressive leadership who are prepared to put money into what they see as the future - advanced manufacturing, industry 4.0, and of course their people capability. In line with that, they have a really easy going and down to earth approach to culture where people are engaged, have meaningful work, and have a great team of people around them - there is no shortage of work to do, and for sure sometimes things are stressful, but there is an environment of support and shared purpose

About the role

As the Engineering Project Manager you'll take ownership of several key business capital projects currently at various stages of development, they include a brand new manufacturing and packaging line, as well as new automation and robotics, and a variety of other engineering focused projects. Previously they have been managed in part by different members of the leadership team, however it is now clear that a dedicated Project Manager would get a better outcome from these investments

About you

We're looking for someone who has enough experience to confidently run several complex projects:

  • Relevant degree or trades background (likely mechanical or electrical)
  • Experience delivering manufacturing based capital projects
  • Experience managing multi-million dollar project budgets
  • Confidence and organisation required to engage senior stakeholders
  • Ability to manage commercial agreements and relationships with suppliers
  • Commercial acumen to understand the broader business impacts of projects

Why should you apply?

It really comes down to fulfillment. This is a business that is growing, that is investing in new technology, that is focussed on innovation and building a better future for themselves and their people - that's a lot better than a business cutting costs and making people redundant. Sure, you will get paid a good rate for the role which will be on the high end of market rates for this kind of role within this kind of sector, but ultimately it will be that you will enjoy going to work every day. People rarely, if ever, leave this business - there are clear reasons for that fact, so send through an application or give me a call to chat about it if you think this one is for you
