Our client is a successful and continually expanding Australian organisation based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. Their equipment and services are used by some of Australia's largest and most well respected logistics organisations and they have an opportunity for an experienced operations professional to join their leadership team in the capacity of Fleet Manager.
About the role
Reporting through to the Managing Director, the Fleet Manager is responsible for ensuring the maximum availability and optimum utilization of all equipment in the fleet. Key accountability includes:
- Organising the internal logistical movements of equipment in the company pool up and down the Eastern Seaboard.
- Management of the periodic maintenance, servicing, registration, and cleaning of equipment.
- Working closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that all information pertaining to equipment availability is communicated effectively both internally and to external stakeholders such as customers.
- Continually striving to lower the cost of national fleet operations through improved procurement / purchasing processes and forward planning.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track of success in regional or national fleet management in the transport, hire car / equipment or business services sector. You will be an excellent forward planner and demonstrate first class communication, negotiation and stakeholder management qualities. Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Logistics or Supply Chain Management would be an advantage.
