Our client is a highly successful and continually expanding Australian industrial services organisation based in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. They currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced logistics planning professional to join their senior leadership team in the capacity of Fleet Scheduling Manager.
About the Role
Reporting through to Executive Leadership level and managing a team of Fleet Schedulers, the Fleet Scheduling Manager is responsible for ensuring that highest customer service levels are attained through equipment and resource availability and optimum utilization. Key accountability includes:
- Fostering a high performing and customer-centric culture amongst your team of Fleet Schedulers, including all recruitment, onboarding / training & profession develoment requirements.
- All aspects of leadership of a business critical function responsibile for the effective forward planning and coordination of a large and complex pool of assets and resources, matched to customer requirements.
- Introducing improved tools and ways of working to provide the organisation with better visibiility of both customer demand, and supply (equipment, labour etc.) constraints.
- Continually striving to lower the cost to serve, and therefore overall profitability, of fleet operations through improved strategic and tactical /day-to-day planning.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of success in regional or national fleet scheduling management in the transport or industrial services sector. You will be an excellent forward planner and demonstrate first class communication, negotiation and stakeholder management qualities. Your customer-centric approach to your work, and your ability to inspire this quality in others around you, will be the key to your success in this role.
