About the Role
As the Innovation Manager you will drive the development of innovation pipelines across multiple categories within the grocery space. You will take innovation from ideation and concept development, through to feasability and business case development, before passing to Marketing at gate three. The role will focus on white space innovation, rather than optimisation or line extensions, exploring opportunities for existing brands to expand into new or adjacent categories as well as explore new channel or market opportunities. This may result in the identification of new ranges, brands or product solutions (including packaging) within existing or new channels to deliver to achieve growth beyond their existing core portfolio.
- Market sizing and competitor analysis across multiple profit pools to assist the business in making strategic decisions around where to focus
- Developing the strategy and influencing stakeholders in the decision process to support growth opportunities
- Leadership and management of multiple NPD projects from pipeline development, through Stage and Gate to successful execution in market. Close collaboration and partnering with Insights, R&D, Sales, Finance & Supply Chain to deliver NPD.
- Lead consumer research projects and partner with external agencies
Skills and Experience
To be successful you must have significant hands on experience in a product development and innovation within a high volume, sophisticated FMCG/manufacturing environment. Tertiary qualified, you will demonstrate a credible, long-term track history of marketing success within the grocery and consumer goods sector, either locally or internationally.
You will be a highly commercial with a consumer first apporach. You will pride yourself on communication skills and your ability to build cross functional relationships and influence to drive results. Your success has been achieved using highly developed brand and business planning skills, advanced relationship building and strategic thinking agility.
