Our client is a leading privately owned third party logistics provider with a blue-chip client base here in Australia. Due to continued growth in a number of key contracts they are currently seeking a customer service focused professional to join their Melbourne based team in the capacity of Freight Coordinator.
About the Role
Reporting to the Customer Service Manager in this individual contributor level role, the Freight Coordinator is a critical poition responsible for playing the role of key interface between this organisations cutsomer base and its operations and sales and marketing functions. You will coordinate these external and internal stakeholders to ensure that customers continue to experience the excellence in customer centricity that this organisations reputation has been built upon, while also playing your part in optimising revenue for the business. You will be focused on allocating freight capacity to customers, overseeing the businesses chain of responisbility requirements through ensuring the accuracy of mass management and DG documentation, and managing the status of bookings throughout the day.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be an experienced customer service and / or logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in customer relationship management and ideally some type of allocations or transport planning. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will present with a commercial mindset and the ability to effectively engage customers to get the best out of the relationship for both them and your own organisation. Your first-class communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills will be key to your success in this role.
