We currently have a very exciting opportunity within the beauty space to launch a new brand in late 2021 initially in Australia, with future global expansion. This skincare and beauty line draws on inspiration from Byron Bay and is formulated from naturally sourced ingredients, creating premium blends which provide unique benefits to the skin.
The brand is founded by Ido Leffler and Lance Kalish, who have an exceptional reputation globally, both co-founders of Yoobi, Yes To Inc., Cheeky, Brandless, and Beach House Group who created brands such as Florence by Mills, Marlowe & Pattern. Within all of their businesses, they have a strong social mission and values platform which underpins the way they do businesses, and they are focused on their people and giving back to communities, with a number of programs and charities throughout the globe.
This new and exciting brand will be launched locally within Australia, with their retail flagship store opening in Byron Bay, along with a direct to consumer ecommerce model. The role will ideally be based in Melbourne, however should you be the perfect talent match, Sydney can be an option too. Tapping into the providence and heritage of the "Australian" story, the General Manager will also influence the short term and long term strategic direction of the brand through diversified channel expansion, product portfolio strategy and go to market strategies and innovation for local and global expansions.
You will be responsible for building a talented and highly collaborative sales & marketing team in Australia, managing the P&L and launching the flagship store in Byron Bay as well as setting up the direct to consumer e-commerce platform. You will also set the strategy for all marketing and digital activity including, social, PR and influencer strategy to support the launch of the brand. As an integral member of the senior leadership team, it will also be your role to instil and build a strong collaborative team culture, developing your team through constructive coaching and decisive, energetic leadership. You will also need to be mobile as there will be some travel required throughout the year as the brands prepares for launch.
- P&L Management, Strategic Business Planning and regular presentations to the board
- Managing the development and execution of the sales & marketing plans to meet business strategy including research, product development, and go to market strategies
- Launch the brand through their retail store and e-commerce channel
- Delivery against key performance targets including GSV, profit, market share and brand health measures
- Development of innovation pipeline and NPD delivery
- Build and lead the sales & marketing team
Skills and Experience
We absolutely need someone with direct to consumer within the beauty space coupled with strong brand building and e-commerce skills. You need to have an entrepreneurial and creative streak and willing to roll up your sleeves to ensure you can build a strong sales & marketing team and drive growth globally. Experience launching into Asia and other international markets would be highly advantageous.
Ideally MBA qualified, you will demonstrate a credible, long-term track history of driving growth and exceptional brand building experience, ideally in similar entrepreneurial environments. You will be a highly commercial, detail oriented, analytical marketer with strong P&L experience. You will be an empowering, engaging and motivational leader who is able to build and maintain a strong collaborative, dynamic team culture.
