About the role

We are seeking a General Manager of Finance, responsible for leading the organisation through significant transformation. Reporting to EGM of Finance, Clubs and Broadcasting, you will be excited by the challenge of resetting the strategy, optimising finance operations/systems and partnering with the ELT in finding new opportunities in the current environment. Leading a team of approximately 30, key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement the AFL's financial re-build plan
  • Partner with Executives and Senior Leaders in the financial management of their portfolios
  • Oversee key financial management responsibilities, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, taxation, procurement, payroll, internal and external audit
  • Support the Industry's major financial decisions
  • Support the development and implementation of the AFL Club Shared Services and ERP upgrade
  • Provide strategic input to the direction of the organisation

Experience & Skills

We are seeking an accomplished track record as a Finance Director or CFO, leading large complex organisations through periods of change and ambiguity. Commercial acumen, strong technical skills, stakeholder engagement and leadership are a must. You know how to build vision and strategy effectively and lead others through the implementation of that vision. Importantly, your values resonate with the AFL's Values, Leadership Principles and Attributes.
