The Opportunity

A key member of the senior management team, this role will see you managing and overseeing the ICT function and ensuring the information and digital infrastructure is stable, effective, reliable and secure, aligned to agreed accessibility standards for disability inclusion.

The Head of Technology is a trusted advisor to the senior executive team, providing advice on managing risks and opportunities related to IT projects, data and information security, privacy, and technology threats. Provide high-level leadership and advice on planning, developing, and implementing innovative strategies and services in relation to ICT, ensuring efficiency and value for money decisions that support the organisation's strategic business directions.

Supporting the role will be a small core team of 4 staff plus external vendors where appropriate.

The Head of Technology will have hands-on responsibilities and a strong understanding of workplace technologies and Cyber Security. The organisation has recently moved to Cloud and has a strong Digital and Data agenda.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the technology architecture and its capacity to ensure business continuity, providing a seamless, high performing ICT service to all users
  • Manage contracts and multiple outsource suppliers/partners to ensure best practice and value for money
  • Coach, mentor and manage team members to maximise the contribution of team members and effective service delivery
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for technology that communicates a pathway to upgrading and enhancing technology over time.
  • Articulate a multi-year investment plan for enhancing the technology infrastructure
  • Drive the ongoing adoption and advancement of Office 365, Cloud and Cyber Security
  • Design, implement and lead an internal governance model for systems and technology
  • Ensure regular, planned audits of key compliance activities are undertaken to verify the alignment between governance and practice.
  • Assume the responsibility for PCI compliance and information security
  • Identify, mitigate and manages cyber security risks and complies with various obligations including ASD Essential 8, PII and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
  • Work closely with the Head of Digital and Head of Data to enable the technology infrastructure to support overall company objectives

About you

  • A strong track record leading and mentoring technology teams and working as a Head of Technology
  • Strength and experience across various business systems including managing complex platforms such as CRM, Financials and gateways to external services such as payment systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully transforming organisational practices through technology and data platforms and practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing technology roadmaps and investment plans
  • The ability to consult with senior leadership and create collaborative relationships and manage a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
