Our client is a leading logistics services provider with a blue-chip client base here in Australia. Due to continued growth in a number of areas of the business they require an experienced Load Planner to drive load building and scheduling efficiencies from their centrally located offices in Melbourne.
About the Role
The Load Planner is a key logistics support position that is responsible for driving efficiencies in load building, equipment utilisation and overall customer service levels across a large local and linehaul road trasnport network. Key accountability includes:
- Building and tracking a large number of temperature sensitive, FMCG transport loads (both LTL and FTL) per day from several sites around Australia, designated for either local or linehaul movements.
- Ensuring that 3PL service providers equipment is being optimised while effectively managing expectations and communications between your business, suppliers / service providers and key clients.
- Delivering on key KPI's such as delivery in full, on time (DIFOT) as well as the management of operational costs and safety across the network.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be an experienced logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in load planning and / or transport allocation across a local or regional network, ideally in the 3PL, retail or FMCG industries. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will present with a commercial mindset and the willingness to engage key customers to get the best out of the relationship. Your first-class communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills will be key to your success in this role.
