Our Client is an instantly recognisable global consumer goods organisation who have their Australian head office in Melbourne. They run their logistics operations out of a site in the south eastern suburbs and currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced supply chain professional in the role of Logistics Manager.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Manager and leading a small team, the Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance of a single inhouse distribution centre facility in addition to a number of 3PL partners who provide local and international freight services. In this high-profile leadership role, your key accountability will also include:
- Working collaboratively with 3PL partners to ensure that service levels, inventory targets and cost reductions are optimised.
- Ensuring that the inhouse distribution centre operation and broader logistics network is aligned to business strategies around safety, service and cost reduction.
- Driving new supply chain process improvement initiatives, and systems (SAP) opportunities.
- Ensuring that the broader S&OP process is supported by a sound logistics function.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be a logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in either the consumer goods or 3PL industries. You will have had experience overseeing a warehouse or distribution centre facility, in addition to managing 3PL providers, all the while driving cost reductions and improving customer service levels. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will also possess first class interpersonal and demonstrated influencing abilities.
