Our client is an Australian grown, consumer products organisation. Considering their significant growth globally, they require an experienced logistics professional to oversee their warehousing and internal freight management functions here in Melbourne.
About the role
Reporting through to the Operations Manager and leading a team of 15+ staff, the Logistics Manager will be responsible for the management and overall performance of warehousing and site distribution functions in line with company policy and procedure.
This includes managing crucial relationships with 3PL partners, pick & pack and loading in a 'safety first' environment and to manage inbound goods process from international suppliers.
Key to success will be leading a performance-driven culture and collaborating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to maximise customer service levels and optimise distribution network efficiency.
Skills & Experience
- A track record of success in logistics management including processing inbound good from international suppliers.
- Experience leading teams and building the capability of individuals in an environment where safety is paramount.
- Experience using a software programs such as SAP, Warehouse Management Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- A Valid forklift and driver's license is necessary.
