About the Company

Our client is a successful, privately owned Australian organisation operating in a number of markets around the world including New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom. Due to significant growth in the local ANZ market they have a rare opportunity for an experienced supply chain & procurement professional to join their Melbourne leadership team in the capacity of National Supply Chain Manager.

About the role

Reporting through to the Chief Executive Officer and leading a team of 4 direct reports across Procurement, Logistics, Planning and Process Improvement, the National Supply Chain Manager is responsible for ensuring that best in class customer service levels are achieved through a finely tuned international distribution network.

You will have direct responsibility for centralised procurement, planning and national distribution centre functions and indirect responsibility for supply chain activity (warehousing, inventory management etc.) being carried out at a number of branches around Australia and New Zealand.

The National Supply Chain Manager will have budget accountability and introduce improved measures of performance for both 3PL partners and the local supply chain network overall. This is a high-profile leadership position that will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to add significant value in a quickly expanding global organisation.

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be a supply chain professional with a demonstrated track record of success in logistics, planning and procurement management, ideally from the industrial or B2B sectors. You will be a strong people leader, problem solver and approach supply chain with a lean and continuous improvement mindset. Key to your suceess in this role will be a customer service mindset first and foremost, and the ability to influence and manage change with internal stakholders.
