On the back of an internal promotion, there is currently an opportunity for a senior operations and supply chain leader to join the business during an exciting period of transformation. Ideally suiting candidates with people leadership experience, a strategic mindset and commercial acumen, the role is based at their main manufacturing facility, based in Melbourne's South East.
About the role
Working as part of the business leadership team, and reporting to the General Manager, the Operations and Supply Chain Manager is responsible for 2 manufacturing sites, 60+ staff and the broader supply chain function. With 5 direct reports including the factory leaders, supply planning, quality and customer service, you will guide the business through a significant transformation phase to improve and optimise the operations from end to end. Specific business goals where you can have an impact include behavioural safety change, SKU rationalisation, network optimisation and improved business systems and processes. You will be tasked with leading a culture of continuous improvement and team success.
Skills & Experience
The critical skills required to be successful in this role include people leadership, communication, safety focus, strategy and a mindset of continuous improvement. Your background should include experience in an operational environment, ideally in the chemicals sector, where you will have led change, improved the planning function and managed a tender process. You will likely have highly developed resilience, decision making capability, and the ability to manage complex problems in a systematic way. Ideally you will possess a degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or science, and some exposure to the chemicals industry.
This business is a large operation but gives you the autonomy to make decisions, act quickly and genuinely have an impact on delivering success. The role offers the opportunity to manage a national operation, with multiple sites and accountability for the end to end supply chain.
