Our client is a national third-party logistics provider widely recognised as a leader in their field. Due to continued regional growth they are looking for an experienced operations manager.
About the role
Reporting to the managing director, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing 18 Direct reports (Drivers and 10 Warehouse staff) driving cost reductions and improving customer service levels. Ultimately being responsible for warehouse and transport functions, Local and Interstate.
- Working collaboratively with up to 100 clients to ensure that service levels, inventory targets and cost reductions are optimised.
- Ensuring that standard operating procedures on site are aligned to broader business strategies around safety, service and cost reduction.
- Driving supply chain projects, continuous improvement initiatives and identifying any systems improvements opportunities that may be benefited from.
- Ensuring that the broader national distribution network is supported by sound performance in what is a critical distribution centre.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be a logistics/warehouse operation professional with a demonstrated track record of success in either the FMCG or 3PL industry. You will have had experience overseeing a restructure and resetting of departments, understanding of Budgets models, reporting and KPIs and lean processing experience.
Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will also possess first class interpersonal and demonstrated influencing abilities.
