About the company

This is one of Australia's largest FMCG's that forms part of a well known global business. They market and manufacture iconic brands and products that are produced locally at their network on production sites. Their head office has a PMO function that is responsible for project management of their large capital expenditure programme of physical assets such as process and packaging lines, utilities and infrastructure, which are typically delivered by engineering project managers.

About the role

The PMO Lead role exists to manage PMO processes and functions for the improvement of efficiency, consistency and quality of capital expenditure business-wide. It is the champion for project management methodology, and ensures financial and cash flow performance, reporting, and that KPI scorecards are met. This is a senior stakeholder influencing role, working closely with those up to the GM and Executive Leadership level and works cross-functionally from legal and finance to engineering and operations as well as other business units. This role is also critical in managing and forward planning resource requirements based on the needs of the programme.

About you

We're looking for someone approximately fitting the below. There are two likely profiles we're targeting - someone from a PMO in a corporate style business, or possibly someone from an engineering and manufacturing background with experience supporting a business-wide programme.

  • Relevant degree
  • Experience working within a PMO environment
  • Reasonable understanding of Project Management tools and methodology
  • Project finance experience (budget, costing, cash-flow, procurement etc)
  • Confidence to engage with senior stakeholders
  • Any exposure to manufacturing or engineering style projects would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite
