This Australian owned food supplier boasts some of Australia's most iconic brands across a variety of categories. Due to growth through acquisition, there currently exists an opportunity for a Program Manager to lead a significant capital investment program, including a greenfield plant build. Ideally suiting candidates with highly developed project management skills, people leadership, and extensive experience with major capital projects, this is a unique opportunity and should not be missed.
About the role
The Program Manager is responsible for all aspects of the capital investment program and focused specifically on the greenfield plant build. Reporting to the Executive GM, they will be accountable for directly managing the delivery teams to ensure that milestones are set, understood and managed in line with expectations.
The Program Manager will identify risks and issues, addressing these so that the project timeline, plant specification and budget is adhered to by the project teams and in line with quality standards. In addition, they will be ensuring regular customer engagement is conducted and that vendors are delivering on responsibilities.
Further to this, the Program Manager develops and implements strategies related to the design, management, construction, and delivery of Capital Projects ensuring appropriate financial controls. Additionally, they will coordinate with external agencies to ensure project is compliant, manage contracts and variations and provide recommendations to the Executive Steering Committee throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience
The core competencies required for this assignment include leading teams, driving for delivery, building partnerships, change management and aligning performance measures for success. Your background should include experience in leading large-scale projects or programs of work, a Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 or similar) and a Tertiary degree in Business, Engineering or similar;
Additionally, you will likely possess advanced knowledge of program management tools and methodologies, Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines, ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
You should also have proven commercial management skills in relation to Project Management, along with strong negotiation, influencing and communication skills.
The greenfield site is based in Victoria's Western Region and the role will require regular and extended travel to the location but can be based from Melbourne. Whilst this assignment is a 2 year fixed term contract, there is a high likelihood of additional contract or permanent opportunities within the organisation.
