Purchasing and Supply Officer

Why this role?

This is an opportunity for a purchasing and planning officer to join a long standing food wholesaling organisation based on the Sunshine Coast. Reporting directly to the head of supply chain and working closely in the procurement team this role will be integral in the day to day of purchasing raw materials and packaged goods.

Who's the company?

This organisation is a family owned local wholesaler of bakery desserts servicing Australia's largest reatilers nationwide for more than 70 years. Our client is currently increased their production and size of the business with a site expansion providing further development to grow with the business for the successful candidate.

What do I have to do?

  • Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing record, stock receipts and data entry
  • Work and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure best sustainable pricing and provide continuous improvement strategies to streamline purchasing processes
  • Monitor status of open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery of all materials
  • Manage and resolve issues regarding purchase order relating to invoice discrepancies
  • Database management using relevant ERP systems
  • Ensure the balance of inventory is in line with demand requirements, to optimise sales and prevent surplus stock.

What do I need?

  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to streamline processes
  • Experience in ERP systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management, organisation and influencing skills
  • Experience in a similar purchasing or inventory role in the manufacturing industry.
