About the company
A global icon in their field, this is an innovation driven business with a large engineering group. This is a company that is driving a substantial and far-reaching transformation of their local operations, though this is not a cost cutting rationalisation - this is a program involving significant capital expenditure and growth. Reliability has been identified as a massive opportunity, where many of their international sites are more advanced - this is a natural opportunity to take some of these global practices and implement them into local operations, while also applying your reliability expertise to suit the specific operating context of the site.
About the role
This is a new role that has been created to bring in reliability expertise from outside the business. The Reliability Engineer will take ownership of the reliability program and drive towards best practice - this will involve improving data collection and analysis across site, developing and implementing a workable and realistic strategy, building strong relationships across key stakeholders such as production, and taking international learnings to implement locally. Multiple reliability strategies are already in use here, however your expertise will see that these are optimised and improved.
We're looking for an early to mid career engineer with experience in reliability:
- Mechanical Engineering degree (possibly chemical)
- Experience in a maintenance and reliability role
- Experience implemeting and rolling out reliability strategies and initatives
- Both theoretical and practical reliability knowledge
- Experience in an operational manufacturing environment (process industries such as food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, chemical etc)
- Engagement and influencing skills so as to build effective relationships and rally stakeholders around an initiative
This is easily one of the most exciting and fulfilling reliability engineering opportunities you could ask for in the Melbourne market. This is a business that has broad scope for improvement, a high degree of appetite for change, and resources to throw behind their objectives - there is a genuine opportunity to have a real impact and to set yourself up for career development opportunities within a large (and growing) engineering group that has recently promoted several key team people. If you are looking for a role with a sense of mission and purpose, this could be for you.
