This is a rapidly growing privately owned FMCG manufacturing business who produce well recognised products sold via a number of major retailers in the grocery and pharmacy channels. They are now embarking on an ambitious growth and transformation agenda which will capitalise on exceptioanl growth already achieved in the last few years, safety is a key business pillar which requires specific focus and improvement.
About the role
The Safety Advisor will work relatively autonomously to observe and identify potential safety issues, opportunities for improvement, and to scope and deliver solutions and risk mitigation initiatives. A number of basic systems and processes will need to be implemented along with practical operational safety measures. The manufacturing and supply chain operations are undergoing rapid change and safety will need to underpin this, so there will be a need to influence the direction of the company to ensure ongoing improvement in safety that also supports the goals of the company. You will be the sole dedicated safety resource within the company, so a robust understanding of the space is critical.
This role is best suited to a mid-level safety professional, someone who has the capability, confidence, and expertise to work autonomously and can devlier complete and appropriate solutions
- Relevant qualifications in safety
- Experience in safety roles within manufacturing environments
- Robust understanding of workplace safety, risks, laws and regulations
- Ability to influence senior leaders and operational teams alike
- Understanding of appropriate systems and processes, compliance
- Commercial acumen - understand how to deliver 'fit for purpose' outcomes
