My client is a family owned FMCG business who have been operating for over 50 years. Locally based in Melbourne, they have a company culture that is all about family, and their brand has a loyal following throughout the retail & foodservice channels. They are renowned for supplying delicious food products for all occasions, and as a result of growth, they are looking to appoint a Sales & Distribution Manager.
About the role
Reporting to the Managing Director, this hybrid role will be responsible for managing key retail relationships within Coles, Woolworths & Metcash, whilst also over seeing the relationships within the foodservice channel (BidFood, PFD etc). You will be tasked with managing the end to end customer planning process, including range reviews, forecasting, reporting, and working with the wider business on NPD and innovation projects.
Another key responsibility of this role is leadership, as you will be leading the state distribution team (25 direct-to-store drivers) as well as directly managing 2 sales representatives. Whilst the team is quite self-sufficient, you will be their direct point of contact for everything relating to their role - including delivery and logistics management.
Skills & experience
Success in this role will come from demonstrated national account management experience from within the FMCG industry, ideally within Coles and/or Woolworths. This role is suited to someone coming from a business where you wear multiple hats, and therefore suits someone who enjoys doing more than the average FMCG sales role! Clear communication, leadership and organisation skills are a non negotiable, and a love for working in a family culture will see you succeed.
