My client is a privately owned Australian FMCG business who specialise in manufacturing premium food products found locally and internationally. They pride themselves on their exceptional knowledge of their consumers, markets and products, which has contributed to their strong success over the years. As a result of this, they are now looking to expand their foodservice team and there is an opportunity for a Sales Consultant to join immediately in Melbourne.
About the role
Reporting to the Sales Director, this is an office-based sales role that will be responsible for driving new business opportunities within the foodservice industry. Your key customer focus will include hospitality (pubs, restaurants etc), healthcare, hotels, leisure etc, where you will present and promote the product range in order to drive distribution. You will take ownership of the relationship of the customer including order management, forecasting, customer planning and pricing. This is a hybrid role where you can leverage your ability to build business but also manage long term customer relationships.
Skills & experience
Success in this role will come from demonstrated sales experience ideally in a similar industry. Your sales experience could have been acquired through customer service, new business development or field sales work, but you must have demonstrated success in converting new customers to business. You will possess exceptional communication skills accompanied with a high level of commercial acumen, and be self-motivated and ambitious.
