About the Role
As a member of the Strategic Communications team, the Senior Media & Communications Advisor will plan and implement communications, media and engagement activities to achieve the key strategic priorities for the organisation.
You will produce well written content, tailored to a variety of audiences and channels. You will provide and drive strategic media and communications advice on a range of issues and deliver aligned events to maximise opportunities to engage with the community and key stakeholders.
Your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Manage media enquiries and actively seek opportunities to drive conversation on relevant issues.
- Build effective relationships with staff in relevant ministerial offices and government bodies, and prepare relevant briefing materials
- Produce and deliver a diverse range of high-quality communication advice and content, including drafting speeches and media materials.
- Provide timely advice and reasoned recommendations, options and solutions on communication issues to senior management and key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will have extensive public relations experience, including issues management and strategic communications and stakeholder engagement. You will have demonstrated high level corporate communications experience, developing content, writing and publications, as well as developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies. Previous experience working in government or community services organisations is highly advantageous.
