About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the Merchandise team, as a Senior Planner. Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Merchandise Planner will be responsible for maximising business profits through effective management of merchandise from conception to sale. Working closely with our Buying team you will play a critical role in building and being responsible for a commercial collection across our Global markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the OTB, option plans, budgeted inventory levels and forecasts
  • Budget management, building merchandise financial plans (WSSI's)
  • Working with the Buyer and Buying Manager to maximise sales and achieve KPI's
  • Pre and post season analysis
  • Building assortment plans, reviewing aged stock, managing markdowns
  • Management and training of a Planning Analyst
  • Monitoring the sales through daily, weekly and monthly reporting and analysis
  • Store bench marking, performance, grading and reporting
  • Monitor sales and external market activity to maximise sale opportunities and minimise potential risks
  • Review and monitor range plans regularly with the Buyer and Planner
  • Generate ideas to improve sales and profit performance

Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent analytical skill with an acute attention to detail
  • Strong skills in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • A highly driven and motivated persona
  • Resilient and results driven
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven experience in a similar position within the retail industry
  • Previous experience as a Merchandise Planner in a volume in retail
  • Proven track record of effective stock management in a fashion business
  • An understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on delivery
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of financial and commercial business acumen
  • Knowledge of the High Street competitors and able to form educated opinions to effect commercial decisions
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Be a confident and engaging communicator with the ability to deliver presentations and influence key stake holders
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills written and verbal
