This food manufacturer operates on a standalone basis but is part of a multinational retail group and has almost quadrupled volume in the last few years. They manufacture several household brands selling through the major retail channels and have a history of investing into new equipment. This site is in the SE Suburbs of Melbourne and operates on a two-shift basis. Due to a restructure, they are looking for an Afternoon Shift Manager to join the team. This role requires an experienced leader who can work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that strategic goals are met.
About the role
As the Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for driving improvement in plant efficiencies whilst adhering to the companies' core values. Product quality is imperative, the ability to meet and set KPI's whilst continuing the strict environmental and safety measures. Reports will be up to 60 staff so your ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders will enable you to excel.
Skills & Experience
This role is key within the business and requires a technically strong leader to drive their CI mindset, the skill set for the successful candidate will include:
- A continuous improvement philosophy with the ability to drive change
- Demonstrable leadership experience with a track record in managing team performance and upskilling staff
- Ensure production throughput targets are achieved in line with daily and weekly plans
- A strategic mindset and the ability to manage multiple improvement projects.
