Our client is a global FMCG business who are widely recognised as a leader in their field. Due to an ongoing optimisation focus they are looking for an experienced distribution professional to lead multiple large, high volume sites, based in Melbourne's west.
About the role
Reporting to a Regional Operations Manager, the State Distribution Centre Manager is responsible for managing the operational and financial performance of two large, high volume distribution centres, driving cost reductions and improving customer service levels. In this high-profile leadership role, your key accountability will also include:
* Leaing a multi site team to ensure that service levels, inventory targets and cost reductions are optimised.
* Ensuring that standard operating procedures on site are aligned to broader business strategies around safety, service and cost reduction.
* Driving supply chain projects, continuous improvement initiatives and identifying any systems improvements opportunities that may be benefited from.
* Ensuring that the broader national distribution network is supported by sound performance in what are two critical distribution centres.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be a logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in either the consumer goods or 3PL industry. You will have had experience overseeing a large single site or multi-site distribution network, driving cost reductions and improving customer service levels. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will also possess first class interpersonal and demonstrated influencing abilities.
