Our client is a succesful and quickly expanding privately owned third party logistics provider with a blue chip client base here in Australia. Due to continued growth in a number of key contracts they require an experienced logistics professional to lead regional operations here in Victoria.
About the Role
The State Manager (Victoria) is a key leadership position that is responsible for driving day to day operational efficiencies and customer service levels, while also structuring the regioanl distribution network to support future growth. Reporting to the General Manager and leading a large team across warehousing and transport functions, your key accountability include:
- Operational and commercial responsibility for a multi-site state operation, covering linehaul and metro transport, cross-docking and pick and pack functions.
- Relationship and account management responsibilities with a number of large national customers within your region.
- Overall responsibility for all company owned equipment in both warehousing (MHE, automation) and transport (prime movers, trailing equipment, containers etc.) functions, alongside the management of a large and diverse workforce.
- Delivering on key KPI's such as delivery in full, on time as well as the management of operational costs and safety across the network.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be an experienced logistics professional with a demonstrated track record of success in warehousng & transport management across a regional or national network, ideally in the 3PL, retail or FMCG industries. Ideally tertiary qualified in a relevant field, you will present with a commercial mindset and the willingness to engage a key customer to get the best out of the relationship. Your first class communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills will be key to your success in this role.
