About the role
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Supplier Management, this Commercial Manager role will have responsibility for the post award contract and vendor management of circa $300m spend across projects, engineering services and construction spend. You will form part of a newly established supplier management team, utilising your strong stakeholder management abilities, negotiations prowess and vendor management expertise in setting up vendor performance metrics, improving supplier performance and ensuring ongoing managing of risk.

This is an opportunity for senior commercial manager to step into a greenfield function to drive best practice SRM processes, as well as lead a small team.

Experience & skills required for the role

Successful candidates will ideally have:

  • Experience managing large value contracts (i.e. $200m+) with Tier 1 suppliers including large multinationals or ASX listed organisations. Ideally some experience working in a projects based role within construction, engineering or large infrastructure organisations
  • Experience dealing with dispute resolutions with Tier 1 suppliers
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills gained from large corporates or large government entities
  • Ideally management experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, preferably within business, law, finance, engineering or procurement/supply chain
  • Procurement experience would be advantageous, but not required
