Due to internal promotion, they are now seeking an Area/Territory Manager to join them in Brisbane, focusing on a SEQLD territory.
About the role
Reporting to the Sales Manager, you will promote and develop business with key customers in a designated geographical territory, this will be completed by an effective and efficient level of customer service and the implementation of sales plans and strategies to ensure that sales and share objectives are achieved.
As the Territory/ Area Sales Manager, you will be a specialist in all channels of distribution, Variety Grocery Chains, Independent Retailers and Alternate Business customers; as such, you will be expected to have a good understanding of the dynamics of the market as well as retailer's procedures policies and values. Adequate skills in communicating, negotiating, and planning are an essential component for this role.
The key challenges will be to identify and capitalise on opportunities, negotiate new distribution gains and maintain stocks and facings of all products in each store. You will be responsible for; updating and developing pricing strategies, channel rationalisation, NPD projects, ranging and range reviews
Criteria to be successful in this role include:
- Proven experience with independents at a store, merchandising or sales rep level
- Track record of leading and growing sales
- Knowledge of the FMCG industry
- Exceptional numerical, verbal and reasoning skills
- Ambitious and hungry for career growth
- Tertiary qualifications in Business or similar
