About the Organisation
Our client is a Queensland Government statutory authority overseeing a major, high-profile infrastructure program of state significance. Operating under significant audit scrutiny, the organisation is deeply committed to achieving and maintaining strong procurement compliance across a complex, fast-moving delivery environment.

About the Role
This is not a traditional procurement role. As Senior Process Compliance & Reporting Officer, you will provide independent oversight, audit readiness, and assurance across the organisation's procurement and contract management activities, filling a critical control gap within a busy, high-performing team.

You'll be the analytical eye across procurement processes: identifying non-compliance, strengthening controls, preparing for audit engagements, and contributing to accurate governance reporting. Working alongside a Procurement Manager and two Procurement Officers, you'll bring the audit and compliance rigour the team needs to lift its maturity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement compliance and assurance activities, including internal and external audit engagement
  • Conduct detailed process and control reviews to identify gaps, risks, and inconsistencies
  • Support audit preparation, response coordination, and findings resolution
  • Review, map, and evaluate procurement processes against policy and best practice (including QPP)
  • Design and maintain compliance dashboards and governance reporting
  • Provide expert advisory to stakeholders across finance, procurement, and delivery teams
About You
A background in internal or external audit, assurance, risk, or compliance is essential. Specific procurement experience is not required. What matters most is a sharp analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and the confidence to drive compliance outcomes in a high-pressure environment.

You'll also bring:
  • Demonstrated experience conducting process reviews, control testing, or governance assessments
  • Experience supporting or leading audit activities and audit response processes
  • Strong understanding of risk, controls, and governance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong stakeholder influencing skills
  • The ability to operate as a self-starter within a fast-paced, evolving team
Desirable: Familiarity with Queensland Government procurement frameworks (e.g. QPP), and/or experience in public sector, infrastructure, or capital project environments.

Why Apply?
This is a high-visibility role within a once-in-a-generation program, offering the opportunity to make a genuine impact on governance maturity at a critical point in the organisation's development.
The role offers a hybrid working arrangement (2 days WFH following onboarding) and potential for extension subject to business need.
