About the Opportunity
  • A critical leadership role in the operations function, acting in a supporting capacity to the National Operations Manager and playing a central role in the day-to-day management of transport operations across the national network.
  • Responsible for driving performance across multiple functions including service delivery, safety, compliance, reliability and asset utilisation, ensuring the business consistently meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across transport operations, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and visibility, and strengthen service outcomes.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of all functions within the national operations team, enabling the individual to effectively carry out various roles (whether to cover leave or support peak demand periods) and always to maintain continuity of service.
The Successful Candidate:
  • An experienced transport and logistics professional with a track record of success leading linehaul freight operations, ideally within a high-volume national transport environment.
  • Commercially astute and able to balance operational priorities with broader business objectives, ensuring service delivery is achieved in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
  • Adaptable and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment, able to respond quickly to changing operational requirements while maintaining a structured and disciplined approach.
  • Highly methodical with excellent attention to detail, able to manage complexity and maintain strong operational oversight in a fast-moving environment.
  • An individual who actively promotes and reinforces a culture centred around service excellence, safety leadership and operational compliance.
