About the company
Our client is a well-established Australian food manufacturer operating within a highly integrated supply chain. They supply fresh and frozen protein products to a broad range of retail and foodservice customers and are known for their focus on quality, reliability and operational performance.

About the role
You’ll support the Planning team in balancing demand and supply, building accurate daily and weekly production schedules, and ensuring customer orders are met on time and in full. Working closely with senior planners, production, sales and logistics, this role focuses on analysing data, maintaining planning systems and supporting scheduling activities across fresh and frozen poultry products. This position is an ideal entry pathway for a recent graduate looking to build a career in supply chain, demand planning and production scheduling within the food manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of daily and weekly production schedules aligned to the Master Production Schedule (MPS), customer orders, stock availability and plant capacity.
  • Maintain planning tools and systems, ensuring accurate updates across demand forecasts, production plans, inventory levels, live stock intake, yields and customer orders.
  • Support the translation of demand forecasts into practical supply and production plans across primary and secondary processing.
  • Monitor alignment between forecast, production output, inventory and customer demand, escalating potential gaps early.
  • Work with large datasets to extract, clean and analyse information from ERP systems, production reports and sales data.
  • Build and maintain Excel-based reports, including pivot tables and basic dashboards, to support planning decisions.
  • Track and report on key metrics such as forecast accuracy, service levels, stock levels, waste and schedule adherence.
  • Identify trends, variances and risks across forecast, production and inventory data, and communicate findings to senior planners.
  • Collaborate with production, supply stock, sales, logistics, warehousing and procurement teams to understand operational constraints.
  • Support daily and weekly planning meetings through preparation of data, updates to trackers and summarisation of key actions.
  • Assist with scenario analysis including demand shifts, supply constraints, downtime and customer changes, and document planning responses.
  • Support the development and maintenance of SOPs, work instructions and planning templates.
  • Contribute ideas to improve planning accuracy, reporting quality and process efficiency across the supply chain.
  • Assist with small improvement initiatives across demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management and data flow.
About You
The client is looking for a motivated, detail-focused individual who enjoys working with data and is keen to build a career in supply chain. Prior industry experience isn’t required, but exposure to FMCG or manufacturing environments will be well regarded.

  • Ability to learn and apply planning processes such as MPS and production scheduling quickly.
Personal attributes
  • Structured and logical thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working through data inconsistencies across forecasts, production and inventory.
  • Clear communicator who can work effectively with production, sales and planning teams.
  • Proactive, adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift.
