The Business
My client operates within a complex manufacturing and supply chain environment where continuity of supply, accuracy, and operational discipline are critical. They are currently going through a period of transition across systems, suppliers, and operations, requiring additional support to maintain stability and keep day-to-day activity running smoothly. The culture is hands-on, structured, and focused on execution.
The Role
This short-term operational buying role will support key transition activities across procurement and SAP systems. You will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining purchase orders, ensuring SAP data accuracy, and supporting GR/IR, deliveries, and supplier coordination. The role also involves assisting with PO clean-up, legacy system alignment, and transition tracking to ensure continuity throughout change activities.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in a buying role, with a strong emphasis on raising purchase orders in SAP. Essential skills include basic SAP knowledge (running POs, looking at PIRs) and intermediate Excel proficiency (spreadsheets, VLOOKUPs, filters, pivot tables). Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are vital for vendor interactions, and some negotiation skills are beneficial. The ability to hit the ground running with minimal training is paramount. Experience in a similar field, such as dealing with pumps, is advantageous.
