Drive purchasing, supplier engagement and inventory optimisation in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
 
We are seeking an experienced Planning & Procurement Lead for an immediate 3-month contract opportunity. This hands-on role will suit a commercially minded supply chain professional who enjoys balancing purchasing, supplier management, inventory control, and production planning to ensure materials are available to support operational requirements.
 
Working closely with operations, warehouse, quality and procurement teams, you will play a critical role in maintaining supply continuity, managing inventory levels and identifying opportunities to improve cost, service and supplier performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
  • Ensure materials are ordered in the right quantities and delivered in line with production requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring supplier performance.
  • Escalate and resolve supply issues, delivery delays and material shortages.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure stock availability aligns with production schedules.
  • Manage stock accuracy, stocktake processes and inventory variance investigations.
  • Analyse purchasing, inventory and supplier performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to balance service levels, inventory targets and operational requirements.
 
About You
You will bring proven experience across purchasing, procurement, inventory management or supply chain planning within a manufacturing, FMCG or industrial environment.
 
Key attributes include:
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and purchasing activities.
  • Ability to analyse inventory, purchasing and supply chain data to support decision-making.
  • Experience managing supply risks and implementing contingency plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Exposure to packaging, ingredients, raw materials procurement
