Business Development Executive

Location: brisbane
Salary: Competitive
Job Type: temporary
Contact: Alexandria Craig
Six Degrees Executive is partnering with a leading foodservice business to appoint a Business Development Manager / Executive to support the growth of their field sales presence across Queensland.

This is a 12-month contract opportunity, engaged through Six Degrees Executive and working directly with the client, with a clear option to extend for a further 12 months. The business is continuing to build its Australian field sales capability, and this role will play an important part in demonstrating the value of a dedicated presence in the Queensland market. It is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys true business development, face-to-face customer engagement and the chance to help shape a growing sales model.

About the Role
This is a field-based sales role focused on developing new business across the HORECA channel, including pubs, bars, clubs, restaurants, independent stadiums, petrol and convenience sites with hot food offers, and more structured hospitality or roadhouse-style operators.
You will be responsible for identifying, approaching and converting end-user customers across Queensland. The role will initially be heavily focused on hunting new opportunities, with converted customers becoming part of your ongoing territory to manage.
You will work closely with the client’s distributor network, including key foodservice distribution partners, while also building direct relationships with venue owners, operators, head chefs and key decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach new customers across the QLD HORECA channel.
  • Build relationships with pubs, clubs, restaurants, bars, convenience operators and other hospitality venues.
  • Pitch products against existing incumbent suppliers.
  • Convert new business opportunities and manage those customers as part of your territory.
  • Work closely with distributor partners to support growth and activation in market.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers through face-to-face meetings and structured follow-up.
  • Provide market feedback, customer insights and opportunity updates to the business.
  • Manage your territory autonomously with strong planning, discipline and accountability.
  • Represent the business professionally in market and contribute to the broader success of the field sales model.

About You

We are looking for someone who is commercially confident, resilient and comfortable building relationships in a field-based sales environment. You may come from foodservice, hospitality, on-premise liquor, distributor sales, venue sales or a broader business development background where you have sold into pubs, clubs, restaurants, convenience, hospitality or similar customer groups. Specific product category experience is not essential. What matters most is your ability to build trust quickly, open doors, manage a territory and convert opportunities.

You Will Bring

  • Proven experience in sales, business development or account management.
  • Strong confidence in face-to-face customer engagement.
  • Experience selling into hospitality, foodservice, on-premise liquor, venue groups, convenience or similar channels.
  • A proactive and resilient approach to new business development.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with chefs, venue operators and business owners.
  • The ability to work autonomously across a broad territory.
  • Strong territory planning and follow-up discipline.
  • A genuine hunger to perform and grow.
  • A low-ego, team-first approach.
  • Comfort with regular travel across Queensland as required.

Why This Role?

This is a unique opportunity to work with an established foodservice business as they continue to build their field sales presence in Australia. You will have the chance to take ownership of the Queensland market, build meaningful customer relationships and contribute directly to the success of a growing sales program.
For the right person, this role offers strong visibility, autonomy and the potential to be part of the business’s longer-term Australian field sales team.

If you are a driven sales professional with strong hospitality, foodservice, liquor, distributor or venue sales experience, we would welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
