Management Accountant
About the Company
Our client is a well-established Australian FMCG business with a strong presence nationally. Following continued growth and investment, the business is entering an exciting phase where finance is playing an increasingly strategic role in supporting commercial and operational decision-making. With a collaborative culture and a lean finance team, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business where you'll have genuine exposure across operations, sales and leadership, while working closely with an experienced Head of Finance who is passionate about mentoring and developing their team.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this is a highly commercial Management Accountant position where you'll partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Sales to provide meaningful financial insights that drive business performance. This is far more than a traditional month-end accounting role. Approximately 80% of the position is centred around business partnering, developing reporting, analysing profitability and helping operational stakeholders better understand the financial performance of the business. You'll take ownership of management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, costing, inventory analysis and month-end activities, while also playing a key role in improving reporting capability following the implementation of NetSuite. Working closely with both finance and operational teams, you'll provide commercial recommendations that support business growth and identify opportunities to improve profitability and efficiencies across the organisation. This role also offers genuine long-term career development, with future leadership opportunities available as the finance function continues to evolve.
About You
You are an experienced Management Accountant or commercially focused finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and influencing business decisions through meaningful financial insights. You'll have strong experience across management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis, with exposure to costing, inventory management and profitability reporting. Experience within FMCG, manufacturing or other inventory-based industries such as retail will be highly regarded. Experience with NetSuite is advantageous but not essential, with strong ERP system knowledge and advanced Excel skills highly regarded. Most importantly, you'll be naturally curious, proactive and confident building relationships across the business, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and challenge the status quo where appropriate.
